PBS is compatible with Proxmox VE 6.2 and later. We recommend using current versions for best compatibility.

Yes. PBS supports verified restore tests. You can mount a backup read-only to verify contents without writing to the production system.

You generate the encryption key locally on your Proxmox VE node. We never have access to it — even we cannot decrypt your backups.

Extra storage is billed per TB per month (69 SEK for Shared, 99 SEK for Dedicated). You are notified when approaching the limit.
